Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri – August 2, 2016 – On Thursday, August 25, the Sustainable Ozarks Partnership will hold their fourth annual meeting at the Ark Community and Sports Center in Waynesville, Mo. The meeting will run from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and all regional citizens are invited to attend.
“We are very excited for this year’s meeting, specifically because we will be celebrating the region’s recent Great American Defense Communities award, as well as strengthening our plan for the region’s future. Getting the region’s stakeholders together to share ideas and develop strategies about what we, as we region, can do to best support Fort Leonard Wood, and to continue achieving great success is really what the meeting is about,” said SOP executive director Kent Thomas.
The meeting will kick off with a number of speakers, including the president of the Association of Defense Communities, Mike Cooper, who will provide an overview of what other defense communities around the country are doing to support their installations. Additional speakers will provide insight into local and state level actions, as well.
As in years past, the SOP’s annual meeting will offer the opportunity for attendees to learn about and discuss a number of regional quality of life issues, including healthcare, transportation, education, and military affairs.
There is no cost for the meeting and all attendees will receive a free boxed lunch. However, you must reserve your spot for the meeting by either calling: 573-329-8500 or registering online at: https://2016sopannualmeeting.hscampaigns.com/.
