SOP Conducts Military Spouse Employment Needs Assessment Survey

Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri – January 12, 2022 – As part of the Fort Leonard Wood (FLW) Installation Strategic Sustainability Planning program, the Sustainable Ozarks Partnership (SOP) in conjunction with the Fort Wood Community Spouse’s Club (FWCSC) is conducting a FLW Regional Military Spouse Employment Needs Assessment Survey.

The seven-minute survey seeks to collect information from military spouses on personal employment experience in the FLW Region (a 50-mile radius around the installation), as well as their professional qualifications, experiences, needs, and preferences. All military connected spouses (active duty, retirees, veterans, guard/reserve, and all branches) in the FLW Region are invited to take the survey.

“Over the past few years, Missouri has placed greater emphasis on passing legislation that ensures an optimal quality of life for military members and their families. Missouri continues to focus on enacting legislation and putting plans in place to make our state one of the most military-friendly states in the nation. Military spouse employment initiatives are central to this strategy and consistent with regional leaders’ interest in creating additional opportunities for those in the region,” said SOP executive director Dorsey Newcomb.

Information gathered from the survey will be analyzed and shared with state and local leaders, military officials, and other stakeholders who are working to increase employment and career opportunities for military spouses and the region.

The SOP hopes to obtain 300 survey responses by February 25, 2022. Respondents can voluntarily enter their email address to be entered into a drawing for a restaurants gift card. All responses for this survey are anonymous at the participant’s preference and no personal identifiable data will be collected in the survey.
